Dr. İrem Demirkan obtained her B.Sc. from Boğaziçi University, Department of Economics in 2000; M.A. in Management and Administrative Sciences from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2006; and Ph.D. in International Management Studies and Strategic Management from the same university in 2007. After completing her Ph.D., Dr. Demirkan worked in various prestigious academic institutions in United States, where she taught entrepreneurship, strategic management, and international management courses. Her areas of research are innovation strategy, organizational networks, executive decision-making, and the strategic implications of blockchain technology. Her research focuses on how strategy is enacted through practice, particularly in dynamic and innovation-driven environments. She has published articles in prestigious management journals including Management Science, Journal of Management, Journal of Business Research, IEEE-Transactions on Engineering Management, Group Decision and Negotiation, R&D Management among others.
