Işık Özer got her BA and MA degrees in Law from Başkent University in 2004 and 2007, respectively. She then received a Ph.D. in Commercial Law from Ankara University in 2013. While studying towards her doctoral degree, she obtained a Tubitak Grant to spend a semester in the Dickinson School of Law at Penn State University. She was first a research assistant, and then an instructor in the Faculty of Law at Başkent University between 2004 and 2014. Dr. Özer, who commenced her duties at the Department of Commercial Law at Özyeğin University in 2014, has taught courses in Commercial Enterprise Law, Company Law, Law of Negotiable Instruments, and Capital Markets Law throughout her tenure. She continues to work in the field of corporate law, especially on corporate governance, corporate social responsibility and corporate sustainability.
