Özyeğin University Receives EU Funding for Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence Project “BRIDGE”

We are proud to announce that Özyeğin University has been awarded funding under the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Actions in the Field of Higher Education – Centres of Excellence for its new project, BRIDGE: Building Research and Innovation in Identity, Diversity, and Governance in Europe.

Led by Prof. Dr. Deniz S. Sert and Prof. Dr. Evren Balta, BRIDGE will establish a hub for interdisciplinary research, education, and policy dialogue on key challenges facing Europe today, including migration, digital transformation, climate change, and democratic governance. The project will integrate new courses into our curriculum, develop a research-driven Democracy Lab, and engage students, policymakers, and civil society through workshops, policy briefs, and public events.

This achievement reinforces Özyeğin University’s role as one of Türkiye’s most research-intensive and innovative universities, strengthening our contribution to European studies, democratic resilience, and sustainable governance.
